Jolyon Palmer has been confirmed by Lotus to drive alongside Pastor Maldonado for 2016.
Palmer was Lotus’s Friday practise driver this year who took part in several practise sessions after he won the GP2 crown in 2014.
Lotus are going through a transition period with Renault purchasing the team. Renault would become a works team again.
Palmer replaced Romain Grosjean who is moving to Haas F1 at the end of the year. Haas is yet to confirm their second driver. Esteban Gutierrez looks to take the second seat.
