Barcelona Test, Day 3

McLaren’s Fernando Alonso has ended Day 3 of Testing quickest as snow, rain and freezing temperatures kept the teams in their garages limiting running.

Snow, snow, snow!

A three-hour delay ensued as bad weather prevented the medical helicopter from taking off. And when the session was green flagged only 5 drivers went out.

McLaren’s Fernando Alonso braved the conditions and set the only time of the day – a 2:18.545 – a mere one minute and 10 seconds shy of the lap record.

Mercedes and Ferrari did not run with Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo venturing out for 2 laps which included a trip to the gravel.

Off track, a proposal to extend the test by an extra day has been vetoed by two of the teams meaning that this will not go ahead.
